For a simple Chromebook, the HP Chromebook x360 14-inch is good for students on tight budgets. It has an Intel processor N100 along with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of eMMC storage, so it’s pretty basic but just fine for typing up documents or browsing online. It boots up fast — within 10 seconds. Previously one of the best MacBooks around, the MacBook Air M1 is still pretty powerful, using the same CPU as the one that powers my work setup. It also has 256GB SSD and 8GB RAM, which is a little on the low side for Windows but works well for macOS. Its 13.3-inch Retina display looks great too, and it has 18 hours of battery life.

It has an Intel Core Ultra 7-155U CPU along with 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD, so you’re all covered with the essentials. It also promises battery life of up to 13 hours, while little details like its touchscreen and 5MP webcam all make it a great choice for most people.

How to choose a laptop from Walmart on Cyber Monday

The first two things you need to do before buying a laptop at Walmart is to think about what you need the laptop for and which of the best laptop brands you want to opt for. From there, you’re in a good spot. If you want great performance for work, aim for a fast CPU and plenty of RAM. Something from the best laptops should help here. If you’re a gamer, go for one of the best gaming laptops and make sure you prioritize the graphics card. If you’re on a tight budget and just want something to type up documents or browse online, veer towards one of the best Chromebooks to keep costs down. Laptops can be expensive, so make sure to do your research. If you simply want to browse online, you really don’t need to spend thousands, but if you want to edit videos on the move or play a game, you do need to invest a lot.

How we chose these Cyber Monday Walmart laptop deals

When it comes to seeking out deals, we know what we’re doing. We don’t just wait to do these things during sales events. We also look throughout the year. Because of that, we can spot the difference between a genuinely great deal and one riding on the coat tails of the allure of a big sales event. We also know our tech, so when it comes to laptops, we know which brands to avoid and which are worth pursuing. So, we don’t feature no-name brands. We only include laptops that we would want to own for ourselves or that we would recommend to people we know. Also, we check the major retailers regularly, so any time there’s a price update, or something new to check out, we’ve updated it here. We pride ourselves on finding the best ways to save and we want to make sure you have a great laptop.

If you need a new laptop but your maximum budget is $500, don't worry because you can still get a decent machine with the help of the laptop deals that we've found. Here's one that's very interesting -- the Dell Inspiron 15 at $250 off, which brings its price down to just $450 from $700 originally. It's not going to stay this affordable for long though, as stocks are likely already running low. In our experience, nothing stick around at Dell for long. If you want to get this laptop for a lower price than usual, you're going to have to be quick in completing your transaction for it.

Why you should buy the Dell Inspiron 15 laptop
You shouldn't expect the Dell Inspiron 15 to challenge the performance of the best laptops, considering its affordable price, but you can count on it to serve as a dependable companion for your daily tasks. With its 12th-generation Intel Core i7 processor and Intel Iris Xe Graphics, plus 16GB of RAM that our guide on how much RAM do you need says is on the level of top-tier machines, activities such as managing spreadsheets, doing online research, and building presentations won't be a problem for the Windows 11 Home-powered Dell Inspiron 15. When it's time for rest and recreation, the laptop can also serve as a solid entertainment device -- it's not going to play the best PC games at their highest settings, but it's great for catching up on streaming shows.

Why you should buy the Dell XPS 16
The Dell XPS 16, which is now the largest model in the popular series of laptops following the Dell XPS reset early last year, received a rating of 3.5 stars out of 5 in our review. We described it as "one of the most beautiful and powerful laptops you can buy," and it all begins with its attractive and ultramodern aesthetic that houses a 16.3-inch OLED touchscreen with UHD+ resolution. The display is paired with four speakers -- wo upward-firing tweeters and two side-firing woofers -- that provide amazing volume, clear mids and highs, and legitimate bass, perfect for listening to your favorite playlists and watching streaming shows.
