All the best multiplayer games in the modern age, from survival games like Ark: Survival Evolved to RPGs like Genshin Impact, live and die based on their player count. With a battle royale like Apex Legends where you need a lot more players for a match than a traditional multiplayer game, you would assume it is a cross-platform game. Those who played early on may know that this wasn’t true, but what about now? There have been years of updates, but was cross-platform support ever introduced?

Yes, after an initial beta period, Apex Legends has fully integrated cross-platform support for all players by default. This includes PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and even Switch players.

Unlike some games with cross-platform support like Valorant, Apex Legends does not keep PC players separate from those on consoles. However, if you do feel you are at a disadvantage because of your platform, you can turn crossplay off at any time.

Apex Legends also features full cross-progression. Any cosmetics and player progression you make on your account can be picked up and used on any supported platform with nothing lost in the process. Just log in with the same EA account and you will be good to go.

Normally, the conversation centers around the best FPS games on PC, the best Metroidvanias on PC, or the best co-op games on PC. Aside from a few key exclusives, mainly from Nintendo, the PC is home to all the best platformers. These can be delightful frolics through colorful worlds or tough-as-nails tests of skill and perseverance. Hazelight Studios has established itself as the team specializing in the best co-op games. A Way Out and It Takes Two don't encourage playing with a friend, but requires it. The upcoming video game Split Fiction is the same story. While we loved those previous games, the one major fault was that they didn't have cross-platform support. That meant that you needed to either be playing in split-screen with your partner by your side or have the game on the same platform as your partner. Will Split Fiction also have that restriction, or will you be able to go on this adventure with a friend no matter where they are playing?
