Motorola’s Moto G Stylus range of Android smartphones falls in the midrange category. As the name suggests, each of these phones comes with a stylus. The two latest models of this phone are the Moto G Stylus (2023) and the Moto G Stylus 5G (2023). While both phones have many similarities, there are some differences between them. For instance, only the 5G model supports NFC.

But when it comes to water resistance, how well-protected are each of these Moto G Stylus phones? This article will provide you with all the necessary details, which may surprise you.

Are any Moto G Stylus phones waterproof?

Sadly, none of the Moto G Stylus models have an official IP rating for waterproofing. Instead, Motorola says they offer a “water-repellant design” or “water-repellant” coating.

As such, none of the following Moto G Stylus phones have an IP rating:

What does the water-repellent design mean?

According to Motorola: “Water-repellent design creates a barrier to help protect against moderate exposure to water such as accidental spills, splashes, or light rain. Not designed to be submersed in water, or exposed to pressurized water, or other liquids; may diminish over time. Not waterproof.”

In other words, any of these phones should be able to handle accidental spills and splashes, but they cannot be submerged in water or exposed to pressurized water. A few splashes here and there won’t be the end of the world, but you’ll probably want to keep your phone away from the pool, lake, etc.

What do IP ratings mean?

IP ratings, or Ingress Protection ratings, are a metric used to evaluate the level of protection a device provides against dust and water. Essentially, it is a rating system that informs you how well your phone can withstand outdoor exposure.

Surprisingly, Motorola doesn’t use the IP metric to rate any of its Moto G Stylus smartphones. Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon G series chips promise a big handheld gaming leap

Qualcomm is refreshing its lineup of mobile gaming silicon by introducing three new processors that will soon appear inside Android-based handheld gaming devices. At the top of the summit is the Snapdragon G3 Gen 3, targeted at high-performance enthusiast gaming.
In the coming weeks, this top-of-the-line silicon will make its way to the market powering handheld gaming consoles from the likes of Ayaneo and Onex. The mid-tier Snapdragon G2 Gen 2 silicon is targeted at 144fps gaming, while the Snapdragon G1 Gen 2 will focus on less powerful devices with a cloud-first gaming approach.

Starting with the flagship variant, the Snapdragon G3 Gen 3 chip is a successor to the Snapdragon G3x Gen 2 silicon, which powered devices such as the Ayaneo Pocket S. It’s an octa-core silicon with a 1+5+2 core layout. For demanding tasks, there’s a lone prime core, ticking alongside five performance cores and a pair of efficiency cores.
Qualcomm says it offers a 28% graphics performance boost compared to its predecessor and supports hardware-accelerated ray-tracing, as well. It ships with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Game Super Resolution stack as well as the Adreno Frame Motion Engine 2.0 tech to offer a smooth visual experience.
It is also the first Snapdragon G-series product to support Unreal Engine 5’s Lumen system for handling illumination and reflection in games. On the hardware side, it can drive devices rocking up to a QHD+ screen with a peak 144 Hz refresh rate.

Motorola is the latest brand to go all-in with the ”AI on phone” trend for its 2025 lineup, following in the footsteps of big players like Google, Samsung, and nearly every other notable Chinese label. As per a fresh leak, Motorola’s upcoming Edge-series phone will be among its first non-foldable phones to offer the company’s Moto AI stack.

Leakster Evan Blass has shared what appears to be marketing images of the Moto Edge 60 Fusion. Of particular attention is the Moto AI branding on the leaked material. So far, Motorola’s AI software goodies have been exclusive to its current-gen foldable phones and the Edge 50 Ultra flagship. Moreover, it’s worth noting that the whole system is still under beta-testing phase.
