What’s new on Amazon Prime Video in May 2025

Amazon Prime Video is really beefing up its sports coverage in May, with events including WNBA games, New York Yankee games, NASCAR, a Premiere Boxing Champions card, and women’s soccer. That’s great news if you’re into sports, but the prime attraction for Prime Video remains the movies and the TV shows.

To start May off on a good note, Amazon’s Another Simple Favor skipped theaters and debuted directly on Prime Video. At the end of the month, the new thriller series The Better Sister — which stars Jessica Biel and Elizabeth Banks — will drop all of its season 1 episodes on May 29. A pair of lighthearted original documentaries, The Sexiest Man in Winnipeg and Octopus!, are also debuting this month. A third documentary, Earnhardt, is a more earnest look back at the life of NASCAR legend Dale Earnhardt.

Natasha Lyonne is the face of Peacock in May 2025, or should we say she's the Poker Face? After two years of waiting, Poker Face season 2 is arriving on Peacock on May 8. And it's far from the only highlight this month.

For the first time on a major streamer, all four of the John Wick movies are in one place on May 15, including John Wick: Chapter 4. Meanwhile, Ke Huy Quan's action comedy Love Hurts is debuting on Peacock on May 9. It didn't do very well in theaters, but this may be the second chance that the film needs. But if you're looking for a spy thriller, Black Bag is already streaming on Peacock.
